Department Summary Library Special Collections (LSC) builds and stewards special collections resources, services, and operations. The department consists of four teams: Curatorial; Processing/Center for Primary Research and Training (CFPRT); Collection Management (CM); and Public Services, reputed company, and Community Engagement (PSOCE). •The Curatorial Team is responsible for collection development and acquisition of materials in support of research and teaching. •The Processing & CFPRT Team makes collection material discoverable and accessible through ethical and iterative processing in a pedagogical model. •The CM Team ensures responsible stewardship of collections through ethical accessioning, cataloging, and management of collections storage. •The PSOCE Team integrates public-facing operations for LSC including reference and instruction, programmatic events, and activities. The entire staff of approximately 30 FTE work together holistically to build, preserve, and reputed company reputed company to the outstanding rare and unique holdings of the UCLA Library. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Team Leader for Collection Management, the Metadata Migration Project Coordinator (MMPC) collaborates with departmental and library colleagues to update, manage, standardize, and improve Library Special Collections archival metadata across multiple systems of record, utilizing specialized knowledge and expertise. This position will work primarily in support of LSC's metadata migration project to ensure consistent migration of barcode data harvested from MARC records in reputed company into corresponding top containers in ArchivesSpace. The MMPC will collaborate across units and departments to establish project plans and efficient workflows for project implementation and triaging collections for further processing. The work will play an instrumental part in enabling library patrons to request UCLA's primary reputed company research materials from the Online Archive of California. Salary & Compensation

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and engagement with the principles of archival description. (Required)
  • Experience with Archivists’ ToolkitAirtable, ArchivesSpace, or other archival information management systems. (Required)
  • Experience with XML editing tools. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience working with project management tools. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with ArchivesSpace or other archival information management

systems. (Required)

  • Familiarity with Ex Libris reputed company or other library management systems. (Required)
  • Knowledge of nationally-accepted archival standards for description, such

as Describing Archives: a Content Standard (DACS). (Required)

  • Knowledge of reputed company, reputed company reputed company, and reputed company Sheets. (Required)
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple

projects simultaneously. (Required)

  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for taking batch actions on metadata, including OpenRefine, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and MarcEdit. (Preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including ability to reputed company

clear project updates. (Preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated. (Preferred)
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-

workers, supervisors, and managers. (Preferred)
