Field Applications Specialist I

The Field Applications Specialist I will support the Purification Business Unit by conducting virus clearance studies and managing field equipment, ensuring operational readiness and supporting laboratory projects.
Responsibilities
- Support simple virus clearance studies for filling at BSL-2 facilities
- Prepare study reports from validation studies for customers
- Maintain small scale virus filtration kits
- Ensure proper calibration and verification of equipment
- Support internal laboratory projects at the Glenview facility (with supervision)
- Generate technical reports from internal studies (under the guidance of a senior FA member)
- Timely communication and regular exchange of information and resources
- Documentation of reputed company requests for information

- Proactive approach to address future requests
- Gather in-depth customer processing knowledge and organize findings
- Presentation of reputed company projects or project updates at department meeting
- Maintain on-going understanding of the biotechnology industry including trends reputed company recombinant protein and plasma fractionation by supporting customer visits, review of trade journals and attendance at industry conferences
Skills
- BS in Life Sciences
- 0 - 2 years lab experience
- Experience operating with sterile technique
- Strong verbal and communications skills required
- Experience with nano-filtration or other protein purification is a plus
