Substation CAD Designer (Remote)

With over 70 years of operating experience, Primoris Power Delivery services include engineering and design, installation and maintenance, material and equipment procurement, repair of electrical transmission, distribution, substation, wireless communication, and storm restoration. Our experience ranges from small engineering and consulting projects to multi-reputed company dollar turn-key distribution, substation, and transmission line programs. We are currently looking for a Substation CAD Designer to join the team! Performing drafting duties for reputed company/high voltage substation or transmission line projects. Assignments are closely supervised to build understanding of drafting techniques, corporate/client standards, and procedures. Employees are dedicated to specific design areas. Revise CAD drawings: Update drawings based on engineering markups. reputed company engineering support tasks: Handle tasks like transmittals under direct supervision. Learn and apply standards: Apply Primoris/client drafting and engineering practices. Use document management systems: Learn and utilize systems for handling project documents. Ensure quality: Take ownership of work accuracy and quality. Identify issues: Report potential problems and solutions to supervisors. Travel: Occasional short-term out-of-town travel for projects. Other duties: As assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications & Experience Education: Associate degree in drafting & design (preferred). Certificate in CAD drafting & design + relevant experience may substitute. Required Skills: General experience as a CAD Designer supporting substation or power delivery projects AutoCAD Experience: AutoCAD 2010 or newer (required). Drafting Skills: Basic knowledge of drawing scales, layouts (Paperspace/Modelspace), and accurately reproducing engineering markups. Other Software: Proficiency in CAD, word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Math: College-level geometry. Soft Skills: Ability to work in a team environment; effective written and verbal communication. Preferred Skills: Microstation experience. 3D CAD experience.
