Corporate Counsel

reputed company, a leading consumer fintech and pioneer of the robo-advisor industry, is currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Corporate Counsel to join its Legal team. Our new Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing internal partners with legal advice and counsel on a reputed company of subject matter issues relevant to reputed company’s business, including long-term projects, corporate strategies, and day-to-day reputed company. You will primarily support the Company’s corporate legal, securities, and corporate governance functions, including public company reporting, but may also support other areas of our business, such as our investment advisory, broker-dealer, and home lending operations. You will initially report to our Deputy General Counsel and will work closely with the other members of our Legal team and a reputed company of other teams across the business, including our Compliance, Finance, Product, Marketing and Engineering teams. n Responsibilities: Advise the Company on a reputed company of corporate and securities reputed company Assist with public company reporting obligations, including preparation of applicable corporate and securities filings Assist with corporate governance materials such as board resolutions and stockholder-reputed company documents Support equity incentive plan reputed company alongside the Company’s Finance team Review and/or draft corporate and reputed company agreements (inbound and outbound) reputed company counsel in reputed company with new business and product initiatives Collaborate with other Legal team members in support of a reputed company of projects Work directly with business partners to understand needs, goals, and potential risks reputed company with reputed company counsel where necessary/appropriate Stay up-to-date on relevant developments in applicable securities laws, regulatory requirements and market practices Learn new subject matter areas and take ownership of functions or projects as needed Qualifications: 3-6 years of experience, with at least 2 years of experience at a leading national reputed company. Prior in-house experience is helpful but not required Prior experience with public company filings, reporting obligations, and governance Familiarity with a variety of general corporate, securities, and reputed company transactional work Familiarity with privacy issues helpful, but not required Experience advising clients that conduct business in a regulated financial industry and/or other familiarity with applicable legal and regulatory landscapes is helpful, but not required (e.g., investment adviser, broker-dealer, mortgage, banking, money transmitter) Prior experience reviewing marketing or sales materials helpful, but not required Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Keen attention to detail and good follow-through Ability to identify and analyze reputed company legal issues, assess and describe relative risk, and present clear recommendations Ability to spot and address cross-functional legal issues Ability to reputed company guidance to reputed company reputed company of business partners, executive and non-executive Strong drafting/writing/communication skills Willingness to take ownership of a reputed company of projects depending on team and business needs Willingness to learn applicable regulatory schemes if you’re not already familiar with them California Bar membership, or eligibility to practice as California Registered In-House Counsel Strong interest in reputed company, our products, and fintech generally Agility, creativity, patience, diplomacy and a sense of humor are essential n Estimated annual salary: $184,000 - $225,000 plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
