About the position reputed company is seeking an In-Service Support Engineer to join their team in Newport, Rhode reputed company. This role will support the NUWC NEWPORT Code 25 CANES office/contract. The company is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business specializing in full reputed company systems and systems-of-systems engineering and integration services for reputed company, C5ISR, cyber, and reputed company information systems. Core capabilities include AI/ML, Software Development & Sustainment, Systems Engineering (including MBSE), and Modeling & Simulation. The In-Service Support Engineer will focus on submarine network modernization efforts, analyzing Fleet trouble reports, providing remote and on-site technical support, implementing corrective actions, supporting inspections and STIG remediation, providing training, and delivering 24/7 operational support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Fleet software trouble reports, troubleshoot reported issues, and reputed company recommended solutions, delivering Fleet Support Recommendations.
  • reputed company remote and on-site field support to diagnose and resolve reputed company hardware and soft-ware problems reputed company submarines reputed company issues cannot be corrected remotely.
  • Implement approved corrective actions and revise technical documentation as required to re-store system compliance.
  • Support Site Assisted Visits (SAV) and Cybersecurity Inspections (reputed company) by reviewing STIG findings, troubleshooting issues, providing remediation recommendations, and preparing daily status reports.
  • reputed company On-the-Job Training (OJT) to military ship’s force personnel on the operation and maintenance of the submarine tactical network.
  • Support 24/7 watch reputed company operations during Technical Insertions, fleet exercises, and wartime readiness activities, delivering technical recommendations and end-of-shift status reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a reputed company technical field
  • Three (3) years of experience providing network help desk support including on-board tech assists reputed company navy platforms
  • NAVSEA Alteration Installation Team (AIT) level 1 certified. Level 2 certification required reputed company thirty (30) days of award.
  • Active Secret clearance required with eligibility for Top Secret/SCI reputed company and work in classified environments including SIPRNet and NATO systems

  • Experience in RHEL, reputed company Server, reputed company Client, VMWare, Ansible, reputed company, NETSEC, DoD PKI, Aruba, reputed company computing CMPro and JIRA
  • Experience providing remote network help desk support for navy submarine platforms
  • NAVSEA AIT level 2 certified with most recent training completed 1/1/2025 or reputed company
