Special Education Teacher (Pre-K Self Contained)
Summary
Provides instruction for reputed company with disabilities that supports learning and results in decreased behavior and increased student achievement Essential Duties Develops or selects and modifies lessons and materials to meet individual student needs Utilizes special methodology for instruction to support student reputed company using GPS standards Develops, implements, monitors, and reviews the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student on the caseload Addresses the unique needs reputed company in caseload, i.e., lifting and positioning moderately intellectually disabled, orthopedically impaired, severely and profoundly disabled reputed company or signing for deaf/hard of hearing reputed company Administers evaluations of student reputed company on an on-going reputed company and maintains appropriate records Follows due process procedures for reputed company referred and eligible reputed company with disabilities Meets expectations according to the general education teacher job description Works with parents/guardians in reputed company aspects of the students educational program Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications Uses technology to support instruction Serves as a resource to general education faculty, administrators, and reputed company services personnel Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator Required Education Bachelors Degree Certification/Licensure Valid Georgia Teacher Certification for area of specialization required Experience Qualifications 0-1 year classroom experience required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Proven communication and instructional strategies Classroom management skills Knowledge of IDEA and due process requirements Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing Excellent organizational skills Knowledge of basic first aid methods, techniques for positioning and moving physically challenged reputed company Working Conditions Classroom environment Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance May have to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds May require stooping or crouching May have to diaper, catheterize, lift, position, tube feed, and assist with eating and toileting Apply Job!
