Verify the patient?s name, medical record number, visit number, admission and discharge dates using both visual proofreading and electronic spell checking. Ensure that obvious inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies are recognized and appropriately revised, edited or clarified without altering the meaning of dictation or changing the dictator's style, which supports the Medical Record department's mission of providing quality patient information. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: MUST be a U.S. citizen. High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Medical Transcriptionist is preferred. One year of experience as a medical transcriptionist in an acute care setting in reputed company work types and specialties is preferred. Must demonstrate quality transcription work while consistently maintaining an accuracy score of 98% or higher. Must have a working knowledge of word processing either through schooling or work experience. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Computer, Internet, and a home office set-up.
